“There is no Heaven to go to, because we’re in it already. We’re in hell, too. They coexist. Right beside each other. And God is the land.”
This artwork has been created in tribute to the wonderful character of Elsa Dutton, played by Isabel May, from Taylor Sheridan's series '1883'. I loved this show, its music, superb visuals, wonderfully written characters and powerful poetic philosophy. Elsa is, in my opinion, the very definition of a 'strong female character' because, in a climate of death and tragedy (as well as modern cynicism and nihilism that prevails in modern media), Elsa is never afraid to Love.
The soundtrack has greatly inspired the creation of this piece as well, especially the main theme and the track aptly named 'Lighting Yellow Hair', as well as 'The river camp' and 'warriors don't cry'.
Mr.Sheridan's writing remains incredibly inspiring to me, both here and in Yellowstone. I hope to learn a lot from his stories and characters.
