Hagalaz or Hagal begins the second row with a powerful shift in energy. This rune brings disruption, chaos and powerful, uncontrollable forces of nature. It may symbolise catastrophe, radical change or obstacles.
This rune may be associated with dangerous magic or curses. It points to a confrontation with the past, or past patterns that one holds on to.

The Runes of this series belong to the Elder Futhark, one of the oldest alphabets in recorded history. Each Rune has endless interpretations and deep meanings; while their origin and/or intent is lost to history, most interpretations come from the 'Rune Poems', possibly written around the 8th century.
