My big boi as a posed 3D model.
This digital artwork was created using a 3D model from a game called 'SMITE' (developed by Hi-Rez Studios), which is a multiplayer copycat of League of Legends. What the game lacks in terms of originality it makes up for the incredible character designs they came up with, while re-imagining every God.
My love for mythology is only matched by my love for character design, so I felt giddy while making this piece. I thought about mixing the modern design with a classical theme, matching his pose to that of the statue of Poseidon from Copenhagen. I then painted the effects on top and added the lineart for a comic-book-type feel.
