Rune Series 21/24
Third Row: Laguz, Laukaz
Meaning: Water, Ocean
Associated English letter: L
Laguz is the rune of tides, both those of the sea and those of the human heart. A very feminine rune, it connects to the moon due to its influence on waters and its association to the figure of a goddess. It speaks of emotions, imagination, dreams and the origin of life.
Laguz invites us to plunge into the dephts of the unknown, and discover that spiritual love is what underlines all reality. Water tells all stories, pervades all things and gives them life through the great cycle of nature.
"Our future selves call us from infinite pasts, and each night are eroded with our dreams."

The Runes of this series belong to the Elder Futhark, one of the oldest alphabets in recorded history. Each Rune has endless interpretations and deep meanings; while their origin and/or intent is lost to history, most interpretations come from the 'Rune Poems', possibly written around the 8th century.
